The Ten Commandments are an integral part of Christianity.
During this homeschool theme on the Ten Commandments, you can incorporate many school subjects. The unit study can incorporate reading, writing, math (counting for the little ones), geography, history, and of course, religion. It's easy to adapt to all skill levels as well. Study the 10 commandments as a whole or study each commandment in depth.
So, how did the Ten Commandments come to be? You can find the answer to your question in various passages in Exodus and Deuteronomy. In the Bible, it is said that God revealed the Ten Commandments to Moses on Mount Sinai. Moses engraved the commandments on two stone tablets to be shared.
The Ten Commandments include:
1. You shall have no other gods before Me.
2. You shall make no idols.
3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
4. Keep the Sabbath day holy.
5. Honor your father and your mother.
6. You shall not murder.
7. You shall not commit adultery.
8. You shall not steal.
9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
10. You shall not covet.
