According to Christian theology, God created the universe and therefore, created everything in it. More precisely, this includes humans and the planet earth, as well as every living and non-living thing. Christians adhere to the notion that God created the universe in seven days.
The origination of this belief comes from the Bible, and specifically, the book of Genesis. Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 both have stories about how God created the heavens and the earth.
According to the Bible, βin the beginning,β God started creation. On the first day, light was created. On the second day, the sky was created. On the third day, dry land, seas, plants and trees were created. On the fourth day, the sun, moon, and stars were created. On the fifth day, creatures that live in the sea and creatures that fly were created. On the sixth day, animals that live on the land and humans were created. By day seven, God had finished his creation and rested, making the seventh day a special, recognized holy day.
